How to Wait on God
Welcome to another Thursday UNFILTERED substack article, the only substack newsletter that believes the Bible teaches that husbands should make the coffee. It’s called “Hebrews” not “Shebrews.”
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
~ Galatians 6:9, NIV
Today’s article is an addendum to the message that dropped Tuesday on the Christ is All podcast.
The message is called “Waiting on the Lord (When the Dream Tarries).”
The assignment I gave to those who were present for the message was to turn Psalm 37 (the parts I’ve listed below) into a prayer. And then to hear the Lord speak through it personally to them.
All of us did this in pairs.
Psalm 37 is a song about the heritage of the righteous and the calamity of the wicked.
For the specific purposes of the particular assignment I gave, I only highlighted the positive parts of the Psalm that have to do with the righteous.
You will find nine promises along with thirteen exhortations in those parts of the Psalm.
If you haven’t heard the message yet, you can listen to it on any podcast app (on the Christ is All podcast).
The message has particular application for those of us who have joined the Insurgence and are part of the deeper journey.
If it speaks to you, let me know.
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”
~ Galatians 6:9, ESV
Psalm 37 NASB
3 Trust in the Lord and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
6 He will bring forth your righteousness as the light
And your judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him;
25 I have been young and now I am old,
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
Or his descendants begging bread.
27 Depart from evil and do good,
So you will abide forever.
28 For the Lord loves justice
And does not forsake His godly ones;
They are preserved forever,
29 The righteous will inherit the land
And dwell in it forever.
34 Wait for the Lord and keep His way,
And He will exalt you to inherit the land.

FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO PARTNER WITH THE MINISTRY
Frank doesn’t profit personally from his ministry. He generously sends out a fresh new article every Thursday (there are over 1,000 on the blog). Also, a new podcast episode drops every other Tuesday on his two podcasts (combined there are almost 300 episodes). While all of these resources are without cost to you, they require time and money to produce. Therefore, if you would like to donate to help defray the costs and/or express appreciation, there are three ways to donate, all of them simple. Go to the Donations Page for information.
