News and Controversy
Sisters and Brothers,
The reason why I'm writing this email on a Sunday (instead of Thursday, as per usual) is because I won't be sending out an article this coming Thursday.
The next article will be sent to you next Thursday, June 22nd, and it will address the Christian's relationship to the Law of Moses.
The article will cover the Hebrew roots movement, the push for Christians to observe the Torah, Jesus vs. Moses, did the early Christians call Jesus "Yeshua," and other related questions.
It will be controversial to some segments of the body of Christ, but helpful to most of you.
Regarding other news:
1. I'm almost finished with my rough draft of the complete rewrite and expansion of The Untold Story of the New Testament Church. Thank you for your continued prayers on this titanic project.
The next step is to have a few editors go over it and to hand it to a number of first-rate scholars for review, something I will need to pay them to do (more on that in the future). All of that before I turn the manuscript in to the publisher.
Again, please don't buy the old version but wait until the new version comes out in a year or two. (The old version is flawed and incomplete.)
Today, I finished the 300th draft of the revision, and it's up to over 1,880 footnotes. Overwhelming doesn't quite describe it.
2. Thanks for all of your kind comments on the last message I dropped (Waiting on the Lord - When the Dream Tarries). It was the subject of last Thursday's email (which you can find on the site, frankviola.org) and the last episode of the "Christ is All" podcast, which I hope all of you are subscribed to by now.
3. Some of you are still reporting that these Thursday emails are landing in your other folders (spam/promotions/junk, etc.). The remedy is simple. Add Frank@FrankViola.com to your contact/address book. And always check all folders every Thursday.
You can see what you missed by going to our Every Article in Chronological Order page.
4. For those of you who are in ministry, the 2024 IXP Mastermind is now open for registration. But you must first apply, which only takes two minutes. Go to MinistryMind.org for the details and apply.
Have a great week, and I'll see you again in your inbox on Thursday, June 22nd for the article: "Jesus vs. Moses (Grace vs. Law)."
Your brother,
fv
